White Keys

Alicia Keys and Jack White have recorded the theme song for the next installment of James Bond the “Quantum Solace.” White wrote and played the drums for the song while the 11-time Grammy winning Keys will lend her vocal talents. This seems like a hit or miss scenario to me. While I love both White and Keys, I worry that their respective styles will clash. There isn’t going to be a middle ground it’ll either be amazing or just down right boring. Last time Keys teamed up with another artist from a different stylistic background (John Mayer on the song “Lesson Learned”) it didn’t do as well as everyone thought. Amy Winehouse was originally tagged to the “Quantum Solace” theme but her collaborator Mark Ronson didn’t think she was in any condition to record. Personally I think it’s going to disappoint. But we’ll see. The “Quantum Solace” is due for release in Britain Oct. 31; worldwide in November.
John Mayer as Host Of TMZ
I thought his last video “making music with John Mayer” was hilarious. Well this one is even funnier. He really is funny in a sarcastic kind of way. Check out the video below!
The Junior Department
Oh, I know what you’re thinking ”I’m a grown woman I don’t shop there.”
I’m not saying your entire wardrobe should consist of Tinkerbell t-shirt’s, hot pants and baby doll dresses. But store’s like Charlotte Russe, Forever21 and H&M can offer woman of all ages the opportunity to add some trendy pieces to their age appropriate wardrobe. We are living in a time where women are marrying men young enough to be their son’s (like Demi and Ashton). Women who avoid these stores in fear of looking like they’re trying to be something they’re not… are missing out.
Some of the items you can get there to add to our “age appropriate” wardrobes are tank tops (great for layering with suits), summer dresses (you can wear them as beach cover ups), and some fun accessories (like clunky bracelets or some trendy hoops). Some stores do a better job of catering to both the young and more matured. One in particular is H&M. If you’re one of the few lucky one’s who happen to have one near you check them out. Their selection is just incredible. It’s the type of store where you can take your daughter (or little sister) shopping and come out with a cute alternative for your suit jacket.
Kiera Knightley Refuses Breast Enhancement For ‘The Duchess’

New York Daily News- Korin Miller
Keira Knightley has refused to allow any enhancement of her cleavage on publicity photos for her upcoming movie, “The Duchess,” Britain’s Daily Mail reports.
Studio heads reportedly want to enlarge Knightley’s bosom in the photos, but the actress, 23, put her foot down.
“She has insisted that her figure stay in its natural state,” an insider said. “She is proud of her body and doesn’t want it altered.”
This isn’t the first time Knightley has faced this dilemma. The actress drew negative attention in 2004 with her larger-than-usual breasts in publicity stills for “King Arthur.”

The Little “Green” Dress
In 1926 Coco Chanel introduced the little black dress (aka the LBD). Making it the must have for any woman’s wardrobe. It’s the answer to every fashion dilemma. The LBD can be dressed up (pearls, heels) or down (shrug, flats or even flip flops). But now with all the eco-conscious labels available there’s no reason why you can’t wear your LBD and still be fashionably green. There are tons of LBD made of bamboo, hemp silk, and organic cotton. Brook There has an organic cotton twill dress with a beautiful scalloped neck, fitted shape, and a just-past-the-knee-length. I also found a flattering take on an 80’s inspired black dress by Larsen Grey available at Shop Bop. Then there’s the always flattering wrap dress by Kelly B I found on Shop Envi (make sure you check out there loungewear…I LOVED IT).
The Dark Knight

This weekend I went to see The Dark Knight (and I loved it). But watching Heath Ledger play the role of Joker got me thinking about a few things; like how hard it must be to completely turn yourself into a character and then turn off a switch to be you again. Not just in movies but in life too. We all have shitty days and have to somehow mask them or control our emotions in order to function. But this is what led me to this post. Why do we put this huge strain on ourselves to be, act and feel as we’re suppose too?
Maybe that’s what leads people and actors to turn to drugs as an escape? It’s not always as black and white as it seems. People don’t make a conscious decision to destroy their lives with drugs. Some people inherit the disease and some just want to be their best at all times and turn to them for help. I’ve watched a variety of close family members fall hard and get back up only to return to the drugs because they feared failing at sobriety or life in general. They are all good people that made the wrong decisions but their heart was always in the right place. Which is why I found it kind of eerie to watch Heath Ledger play that role. In my opinion he was so awesome at what he did that he lost himself. He left the switch on. Which in return caused him his life.
