A Meeting And A Date All In One Day
So here’s the scenario: You’ve got a meeting with your boss on the same day as a dinner date with “Mr. Big.” They’re both important, but each requires a different look to get what you want. Knowing you don’t have enough time to come home and change, what do you do? Here are some tips on how to walk into work looking professional and walk out of work ready to flirt:
· If you have a little black dress (which you should), wear it. If it’s a little too revealing throw a suit jacket over it with a thin belt at the waistline.
·

If the dress is modest, a pashmina shawl or a cropped cardigan will do the trick. Put on a strand of pearls or some type of long necklace and there you have it sexy yet… professional.
· If you choose to wear your full suit, try a camisole, wrap top, or even a tasteful halter-top underneath it. A scarf can help cover areas where needed and at the end of the day you can just tie it to your purse. It’ll look “accidentally cool.” · In your bag pack a few necessities like a clutch, sling back stilettos (unless you’re already wearing them to work), a makeup bag to refresh and add some lipstick, smudgy eyeliner and lots of mascara. You can even pack a sexy pencil skirt to add to the top if you wore your full suit. And last but not least a change of jewelry. I’m a big fan of hoops, chunky rings and bangles; but if simplicity is your thing…go with it.
This along with your favorite cocktail and you’re good to go!
The Little “Green” Dress
In 1926 Coco Chanel introduced the little black dress (aka the LBD). Making it the must have for any woman’s wardrobe. It’s the answer to every fashion dilemma. The LBD can be dressed up (pearls, heels) or down (shrug, flats or even flip flops). But now with all the eco-conscious labels available there’s no reason why you can’t wear your LBD and still be fashionably green. There are tons of LBD made of bamboo, hemp silk, and organic cotton. Brook There has an organic cotton twill dress with a beautiful scalloped neck, fitted shape, and a just-past-the-knee-length. I also found a flattering take on an 80’s inspired black dress by Larsen Grey available at Shop Bop. Then there’s the always flattering wrap dress by Kelly B I found on Shop Envi (make sure you check out there loungewear…I LOVED IT).
