The Perfect Mother’s Day Gift!
May 10, 2012 by admin
Filed under Fashion Tips & Finds
There are tons of gift ideas out there for this Mother’s Day, but my favourite gift is the one that keeps coming even after Mother’s Day is over…magazine subscriptions! I’m a magazine junkie and I personally subscribe to a bunch (like a kid, I still get excited when I find my magazines sitting in the mail box after a long day at work). One of my favourite past times is kicking my feet up, grabbing a glass of wine and cracking open this month’s freshly printed magazine. Best of all, we live in a time where there are literally hundreds of different magazines covering every possible topic and category out there (whether food, style, fitness or new mum advice). And CLEO Australia has one of the internet’s most diverse selections… check out some of my favourite below.
For The Stylish Mum:
Shop Til You Drop is the ultimate modern girls guide to online shopping and its focus is entirely on shopping smart. What mum wouldn’t love that! It mixes high-low fashion, beauty shopping and even top pharmacy picks all in one magazine.
For The Beauty Lover:
Allure is well known as the beauty expert and its pro’s cover a wide range of topics from celebrity tips, new product reviews and insider secrets.
For the Celebrity Obsessed:
I love me my celebrity gossip and OK! Magazine always covers my favourite celebrities from around the world. Featuring exclusive interviews and personal revelations from celebrities, OK! Magazine is most well-known for its coverage of celebrity weddings, like David and Victoria Beckham’s.
The Expecting Mum:
Mother and Baby magazine was my go-to magazine when I was pregnant. It’s choc full of info (from a huge panel of experts) that every expectant mum needs. Including fashion tips!
For The Foodie:
Recipe+ is the definitive magazine for mums on a budget! Fabulous meal ideas and tons of inspiration for vegetarian dishes, beautiful desserts, kids snacks…all at affordable prices!
For the Fitness Mum:
Good Health is one of my personal fave’s. Articles cover everything from weight loss, workouts, diet and nutrition, food and recipes, to health and beauty. The inspirational articles are my favourite and it’s a great cover to cover read that you’ll want to keep for reference like I do with all of mine.
The list is endless, the options never ending and sure to bring a smile to any mum on Mother’s Day! Best of all, it only take a few minutes to order instantly online (not to mention the price breaks!).

REMBRANDT® INTENSE STAIN® Stain Dissolving Strips Review
May 7, 2012 by admin
Filed under Fashion Tips & Finds
I’ll be the first to admit that my day starts off with a pot of coffee and usually ends with a glass of wine (okay..maybe two glasses!). Unfortunately, this daily ritual has taken a toll on my once pearly white smile. Which I’m particularly sensitive about because I have to take a lot of pictures for my fashion blog. Recently I was sent the REMBRANDT® INTENSE STAIN® Stain Dissolving Strips to test out. I’ll also be the first to admit that I remember the “wilderness years” when at-home teeth whitening products first hit the market, they cost a fortune and you were terrified that your teeth were going to glow in the dark. Well, times have certainly changed, and I couldn’t be happier with the Rembrandt results.
Within the first day there was a noticeable, natural looking difference; by the end of the two week treatment, I was giving the world my best imitation of a Julia Roberts thousand watt smile! The product is so easy to use and is comprised of simple strips that literally dissolve within minutes in your mouth. And it retails for only $22.99! Any product that erase years of soda drinking and happy hour toasts in less than two weeks get my vote of approval.
REMBRANDT® INTENSE STAIN® Stain Dissolving Strips dissolve on your teeth in minutes to easily remove tough stains caused by coffee and wine. Get a whiter smile in 2 weeks. Visit www.rembrandtboutique.com to learn more or purchase REMBRANDT® products.

How to Dress Up Shorts
May 1, 2012 by admin
Filed under Fashion Tips & Finds
Every woman’s mind is racing with ideas on how to let their inner summer fashionista shine. Shorts are a summer must-have, but they tend to be very casual and might need a little sprucing up to turn your car-wash shorts into night on the town or work-appropriate shorts. See how you can style your shorts for the office or a night out with the girls.
The Work Look: Inspired by Kourtney Kardashian Try a pair of non-denim shorts for a work-appropriate look. I love the classic pairing of black and white. Pair them with a simple heel to add a touch of sophistication. Try a chic purse that is big enough for you to carry a few files and a healthy snack in. In this outfit, a promotion should definitely be in your near future.
Night Out on the Town Look: Inspired by Katie Cassidy
You can take the same shorts and dress them up for a night out. Stand out in a bold look by adding a printed top. Be sure not to over accessorize when wearing bold prints. Pair it with a cute pair of heels, simple earrings, swap your work bag for a hip clutch, and you’re ready to rule the night!
Final Tip: Don’t forget every woman’s best accessory: your smile, because as Audrey Hepburn once said, “happy girls are the prettiest girls.”

Conversely, don’t shy away from dressing things up and throw on your favorite sky-high heels for a night out on the town. The key is keep things simple; this skirt has enough personality on it own!

My First Car Story For Subaru Video

It’s finally here! Last month I had the amazing opportunity to fly to LA to participate in video shoot for Subaru’s fun new website, Firstcarstory.com (seen here). It really was so much fun and the crew was absolutely amazing and nice (you’d be amazed at the amount of people it takes to film a few minutes of video).

My story, as well as the videos posted by other people, brought back so many fond memories (it’s amazing how many people share similar experiences with their first car!). Better yet, Subaru is having an amazing giveaway: an All-New 2012 Subaru Impreza. Enter by going to FirstCarStory.com and clicking on the vehicle in the bottom right-hand corner. Good Luck!

Everyone loved their first car. No matter how beat up or broken down, it was a taste of freedom and you loved it. Even though it lasted only for a brief time, that emotional connection is an experience that unites us all. Check out my custom illustrated story, you can submit one too at www.firstcarstory.com and bring your story to life with animation and music and share it with your friends.
