If you’re new to me, just know that I LOVE the pencil skirt on you ladies. It’s elegant, timeless, and always fashionable. On wednesday, when your female coworkers are wearing that tired, mid-week gear, you’re coming fresh and beautiful to the mid-week meeting in this absolutely stunning trench inspired dress. It’s pricey, but the silk, cotton, linen blend keeps you from overheating while inspiring fond thoughts of the fall season that’s fast approaching. Pair with minimal earrings and a subtle bracelet. (perhaps drops or hoops?). Go with something other than sandals (louboutin is always appropriate), like a nice pump or comparable footwear choice. And with the neckline of this particular dress, leave out the necklace. Almost the weekend but not quite, thursday kind of sucks most weeks. Why? However, you’re meeting with the hubby (at least my wife does) for coffee at starbucks and you’re going out with him later for dinner so you still need to be your gorgeous self! Friday

Casual friday is quite possibly the greatest invention of the corporate era! Now you get to show off that street style you’ll be rocking this weekend. You can really go with light or dark denim for this one and no, your purse does not have to match your belt. For the feet, sandals, heels, tenis, whatever! As long as it’s compatible with the rest of your look, go for it! Hats are a bonus too. Jewelry? The bigger the better. Chunky, geometric, flashy, you name it! Bold is boss! Designer Spot Light : Isaac Mizrahi

 

 

 

Isaac’s spring 2010 collection at the New York Fashion Week was exciting- lots of ruffles and petals, short little numbers and those hats! As only Isaac would do it! The little square clutches, and box purses definitely made the show reminiscent of the early –mid 1900’s (think 40’s -60’s), the occasional umbrella gave me the feeling that we were heading for a picnic in the rain! Bold lips and the Blazers were a common theme and are bound to be the in trend this fashion year. Catch the show here.

Erika Hendrix: Clothes and Accessories for Unique and Stylish People

I was looking through Erika’s Fall line (see below) and fell in love this adorable high-waist tulip skirt with pockets (I’m a sucker for pockets!).  I immediately envisioned the striped skirt with wedges, a simple tank and a cropped denim jacket.

That’s what I love about Erika’s designs: each piece is casual and chic with just the right amount of “classic” to dress up or down.  

Erika integrates femininity and tomboyish looks into her designs, and offers a wide array of skirts, dresses, hooded sweaters, and accessories.
