Celebrity Redo: Beyonce Knowles

Beyonce is the perfect example of what happens when you wear too many trendy items all at once – it’s way too hectic and even great pieces look bad. To tone down the outfit, I swapped the caged heels for a simpler pair of caged-styled platform’s.  To give the outfit a softer look,  I traded in the fitted tank for the slub twist knot tank. Maybe even add some diamonds to the outfit, if you’re looking for just a little more flash. Tasteful and subtle jewelry can be a great touch when applied properly. Hope you like it!

Celebrity Redo: Gwyneth Paltrow

Believe it or not, I actually like the way Gwyneth Paltrow looks in this outfit (but it could be better! ).  So I decided to break down the outfit and replace it with pieces that are not only more flattering, but also more versatile.  Take for example the slacks:  I chose slouchy slacks so you can roll ‘em up (like Gwyneth) but wear them with flip flops for the summer, or with a crisp white shirt to the office.   The cowl neck sweater would play perfectly against a line skirt, jeans or even a cute pair of shorts in the Spring.  When it comes to those gorgeous boots, which I absolutely love, the possibilities are endless and I can definitely envision them adorning a variety of dresses, shorts and skirts.  Lastly,  let’s not forget the pleated knit coat, which (like the peacoat it so clearly resembles) will never go out of style and always have a spot in your closet.
